About Olivia
-
Olivia Yorston is a Scottish jeweller based in the breathtaking Cairngorms, Scotland, where she draws inspiration from the rich nature and stunning landscapes that surround her. Olivia discovered her passion for jewellery in 2016, at the age of 21, when she began her journey as a bench jeweller for the renowned company, Sheila Fleet Jewellery, based in Orkney.
Her skill and dedication led to her achieving the prominent role of Master Pattern Maker in 2019, and later adding Designer to her job title in 2020. Since then, she has created a variety of unique collections that reflect the beauty and intricacy of Orkney’s natural environment and rich heritage.
In 2023 Olivia applied for and was awarded the prestigious Queen Elizabeth Scholarship Trust (QEST) Scholarship which has enabled her to acquire new skills by training and collaborating with world-famous engraver, Malcolm Appleby MBE. You can see the results of this experience reflected through the intricate engravings and traditional methods she uses to create her jewellery.
Olivia is now focusing on developing her own jewellery collections and bespoke pieces that capture the essence of Scotland’s natural environment, utilise her talents as a traditional goldsmith and engraver and above all, are beautiful.
